TECHNICAL PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN RAVENOL AND DÖRR MOTORSPORT

As a technical partner for many national and international racing series with different focuses, RAVENOL has been involved with motorsport for many years and has a firmly established global position in racing—from karting through to Formula 1. This makes the company the perfect partner for Dörr Motorsport.

This Frankfurt team has been a well-known name in motorsport for 22 years, with the Dörr Driving School taking young talented drivers from karting to GT-Sport. The team is racing an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and a McLaren 570S GT4 in the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2021.

At the test days in Monza, at Paul Ricard, and this week at the Hockenheimring, the partnership was already plain to see on the racing cars. But there is a lot more to the partnership than just RAVENOL stickers. “A partnership like this is only fruitful if both parties can be sure that they share the same values” says Rainer Dörr, founder and owner of the Dörr Group. “We both want to offer professional performance and always rank among the best. I am very much looking forward to working with RAVENOL.”

Since 1946, Ravensberger Schmierstoffvertrieb GmbH has been developing and manufacturing high performance lubricants under the RAVENOL brand name. State-of-the-art laboratory and production facilities guarantee a consistently high product standard. RAVENOL’s competences are highlighted by the wide range of product approvals from leading car manufacturers. The range includes lubricants, greases, care products, refrigerants and winter chemicals. In addition to the technical collaboration with the racing team and series organisers, RAVENOL also works directly with manufacturers in the field of engine and transmission technology. This guarantees that the quality standard of the RAVENOL lubricants being used always remains the same.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with a company that is so well-established in motorsport as Dörr Motorsport, said Martin Huning, RAVENOL Motorsport Director. “The racing cars used by Dörr Motorsport from exclusive brands such as Aston Martin or McLaren are an asset to any racing series.”

Dörr Motorsport has already clocked up a total of five test days in the current season. With the McLaren 570S GT4, the team is benefiting from the data from last season and considers itself to be in an optimal position. Rookies Nico Hantke and Ben Dörr will be competing for points in the race. The Aston Martin Vantage GT4, for which the manufacturer racing department had recommended a setup, represented new territory. “We’ve tested everything, left it as it was, turned it upside down and worked through all versions,” reports Robin Dörr, Team Manager of Dörr Motorsport. “The setup from England was optimal, we are barely changing anything. Andreas Wirth and Phil Dörr will also be up front with this car.”
